1. Pearls
Pearls
Look up at the man in the moon
Surrounded by a diamond sky
But below a blue and white pearl catches his eye
Scattered 'cross a ribbon of black
A string of pearls are fading out
But below a blue and white pearl is still holding out
And the man in the moon cries any time soon
we’re gonna wake and know what’s fake
In all these pearls in the sky only one of them holds you and I
See our mother of pearls iridescent swirls with her blue & white cloudy face
So alone in the darkness waiting for her first embrace
And the girl on the ballroom floor
Spins round in a diamond sky
While the man in the moon circles round trying to catch her eye
And there’s a red face looking on
He's breathless to join the dance
But knowing he can’t cut in he’s already lost his chance
And the man in the moon cries any time soon
we’re gonna wake and know what’s fake
In all these pearls in the sky only one of them holds you and I
See our mother of pearls iridescent swirls with her blue & white cloudy face
So alone in the darkness waiting for her first embrace
We’re dancing with a blue and white pearl
Oh such a beautiful world
Dancing with a blue and white pearl
Oh such a beautiful world

2. Raindance
Raindance
In the hills, drums are beating
echo round, empty Alice town
In the sky, smoking pillars
hopes are rising up and falling down
Wondering which way to look
from a silent dried out brook
On the ground feet are stamping
dust is rising to the beating sound
Raindance, Raindance, Raindance, Raindance
In the streets, signs are calling
beckon you the keeper of the days
What’s their meaning, what’s your feeling
driving ‘long diff’rnt freeways
Storm clouds gath’rin in the hills
raindrops bounce on window sills
Something’s falling someone’s calling
something’s going wrong in Brazil
Raindance, Raindance, Raindance, Raindance
Amazon, Amazon – your heart is starting to bleed
Amazon, Amazon – vampires are starting to feed
Amazon, Amazon – vampires are starting to feed - on greed, on greed, on greed
In a trance, apprehension
concrete rivers masquerade
See it in the eyes of children
innocent and so unafraid
We’re butterflies tossed like leaves
in a growing ocean breeze
Will we land, will we drown
should we try and turn around and leave?
Raindance, Raindance, Raindance, Raindance

3. Spirits
Spirits
Candle light flickers as the spirits come to call
Quiet whispers in the leaves, shadows dancing on your wall
Takes me to a place more alive than I’ve ever been
If you know the place I speak of then you’ll know the spirits within
Spirits floating all around, waiting to be found
Hear them in the restless breeze and raindrops on the ground
And the mischief shining in your eyes and the laughter we have found
take me distant places far and wide to the spirits all around
Wood smoke scents the evening to the crackling sound of flames
Your eyes catch the moon light as you turn and call my name
Oh, ripples on the water as their breath begins to show
Leaves impressions in your mind, where they’ll end you’ll never know
Spirits floating all around, waiting to be found
Hear them in the restless breeze and raindrops on the ground
And the mischief shining in your eyes and the laughter we have found
take me distant places far and wide to the spirits all around
Take my hand and stay a while, what do you feel and see?
Oh I don’t know, where they go, but they’re back when you’re with me
Spirits floating all around, waiting to be found
Hear them in the restless breeze and raindrops on the ground
And the mischief shining in your eyes and the laughter we have found
take me distant places far and wide to the spirits all around
Candle light flickers as the spirits come to call
Quiet whispers in the leaves, shadows dancing on your wall

4. Shooting Star
Shooting Star
I've been looking out so long
Looking in all the wrong places
Searching high and low for you
In all those other lonely faces
Shooting star
You’re my, shooting star
I make a wish, every time I see you
That your smile means all my dreams will come true
But then you take a different track
Coming back for those others who think so too
Shooting star
You’re my, shooting star
And if you ever fall to Earth
Need to find out what your friends are worth
I’m here, my
Shooting star
You’re my shooting star
Shooting star
You’re my shooting star

5. Scrapfaggot Green
Scrapfaggot Green
Scrapfaggot green she was only eighteen
When they burned her at the stake saying all her plea’s were fake
Then at dawn’s first gleam, her ashes could be seen at Scrapfaggot green
Making doubly sure that they’d hear no more
They put her deep in the ground ‘neath the largest stone found
And there she slept and some say she wept at Scrapfaggot green
She’ll never hurt any body, she never hurt a soul
She’ll never hurt any body, despite the life they stole
T’was the year of our lord, forty four they record
When her stone on the green got moved by marines
Then her spirit woke and finally she spoke at Scrapfaggot green
She said despite what they’ve done I’m gonna have some fun
Gonna move things all around so nothing can be found
Then they’ll remember me in the tales of Great Leigh’s at Scrapfaggot green
She’ll never hurt any body, she never hurt a soul
She’ll never hurt any body, despite the life they stole
Well there’s still a trace of her here, winding clocks back to yesteryear
When she gathered eggs and corn for pennies and folk would hear her singing
I’ll never hurt any body, I never hurt a soul
I’ll never hurt any body, despite the life they stole
No I’ll never hurt any body, I never hurt a soul
I’ll never hurt any body, despite the life they stole

6. Safe and Sound
Safe and Sound
There’s a kind old lady knitting
looking through her window pane
Spending days, months, years and sighs
travelling winding memory lanes
She sees a girl and the boy next door
feels their hand in hand
Unafraid of the path they take
it’s their future to command
Inside she’s still that little girl from all those years ago
Still hearing school ground laughter feeling thrill of new laid snow
Reliving all the hopes and tears with family close around
And though those times are distant now
Inside they’re safe and sound, safe and sound
There’s a cat upon the window sill
a clock chimes on the side
The fire’s cold in the grate now but
pride cloaks the cold she hides
Then as she nods and falls asleep
smiles linger on her lips
And a ball of wool rolls to the floor
from between her finger tips
Inside she’s still that little girl from all those years ago
Still hearing school ground laughter feeling thrill of new laid snow
Reliving all the hopes and tears with family close around
And though those times are distant now
Inside they’re safe and sound, safe and sound
Across the room her photographs
smiling faces watch over her
They’re on their guard, they never sleep
and in their likeness she looks out too, over you, over you, over you
Inside she’s still that little girl from all those years ago
Still hearing school ground laughter feeling thrill of new laid snow
Reliving all the hopes and tears with family close around
And though those times are distant now
Inside they’re safe and sound, safe and sound

7. Who Am I Tonight
Who Am I Tonight
Sometimes in my imagination
my name is not on your lips
And late at night it seems to me
it's not I 'neath your finger tips
And who am I tonight
when I turn out the light?
If you don’t call out my name
Will I loose my claim on you?
Sometimes in my dark suspicion
double meanings cloud what you say
And that far-off look just magnifies
your smiles that fade away
And who am I tonight
when I turn out the light?
If you don’t call out my name
Will I loose my claim on you
Will I loose my claim on you
Well I have been who you want me to be
so I’m gonna call your bluff
Your gonna be someone else tonight
cos enough's enough’s enough, enough
Who are you tonight
when you turn out the light?
If I don’t call out your name
will you loose your claim on me?
will you loose your claim on me?
will you loose your claim on me? -
8. Chamois Leather Beauty Queen
Chamois Leather Beauty Queen
She comes out on a sunny afternoon
Wearing sprayed on jeans and humming tunes
The sleepy neighborhood emergin’
Wide eyed behind breathin’ curtin’s
She can wax, she don’t wane,
sure can entertain
Singing in the rain on her window pane
She’s a queen, reigns supreme, in your dreams
Moving like a cat ‘til her body work gleams
From Miami, she’s a chamois leather beauty queen
Seems so innocent hosing down the car
Moves in time to the sound of faint guitars
Rubber neckers strain to catch a view
Radio warns of cars backed up 5th Avenue
She can wax, she don’t wane,
sure can entertain
Singing in the rain on her window pane
She’s a queen, reigns supreme, in your dreams
Moving like a cat ‘til her body work gleams
From Miami, she’s a chamois leather beauty queen
Her old car’s treated better than a limousine
(yes it is)
But it’s never seen ‘neath the curves of a beauty queen
She can wax, she don’t wane,
sure can entertain
Singing in the rain on her window pane
She’s a queen, reigns supreme, in your dreams
Moving like a cat ‘til her body work gleams
From Miami , she’s a chamois leather beauty queen
From Miami, she’s a chamois leather beauty queen
From Miami, she’s a chamois leather beauty queen -
9. Life In Red City
Life In Red City
Each night she goes fishing, with lipstick and scent
Her fishnet stockings, trawl sidewalks for rent
And if her clothes look tawdry, she’d have to agree
But the truth lies in her eyes saying this isn’t me
The bars on her windows don’t hold back her dreams
The shackles that find her close slowly unseen
No alarm clock rescue can help shake her free
From the sleepless prison that’s life in red city
Each night he goes hunting, for comfort and beer
And on the street corner buys escape he should fear
Each look in his mirror, hides a different disguise
Never sure of the moment, when his truth turned to lies
The bars on his windows don’t hold back his dreams
The shackles that find him close slowly unseen
No alarm clock rescue can help shake him free
From the sleepless prison that’s life in red city
Each night they go calling, on nightclubs and bars
Blues songs smoky rooms, outside screaming cars
In downtown red city, stripped of their pride
Naked in the red light, only their souls left to hide
The bars on their windows don’t hold back their dreams
The shackles that find them close slowly unseen
No alarm clock rescue can help shake them free
From the sleepless prison that’s just life in red city

10. The Other Side Of My Hill
The Other Side Of My Hill
There’s a tranquil place this side of a hill
Hypnotized by wind farms never standing still
A scarecrow figure taunts the restless breeze
Looking possessed he steals amongst the trees
Can’t take you there but I can point the way
It makes no sense but if you feel ok
Come stand beside me here on my hill
Peer out upon the land and share my chill
And there’s no where to hide
See the Beacons lit on far off mountain sides
And there’s nowhere to hide
Oh, run like crazy for the other side
Of my hill, of my hill
Dare you climb up here to gain a better view
See the setting sun rise again renewed
Casting shadows from the centre of a maze
Keep turning right to find how big’s the blaze
Now smoke lies swirling darkly on the ground
Enough they can’t deny us what we’ve found
Hear them choking on their sound bite lies
While vultures circle high up in the sky
And there’s no where to hide
See the Beacons lit on far off mountain sides
And there’s nowhere to hide
Oh Run like crazy for the other side
Of my hill, of my hill
I can see you standing there just like me
Bewildered looking lost absentees
As the stars come out new beacons shine out too
And one by one the few are not the few
And there’s no where to hide
See the Beacons lit on far off mountain sides
And there’s nowhere to hide
Oh Run like crazy for the other side
Of my hill, of my hill

11. Space and Time
Space and Time
Through the mist I can see someone
out there, in front of me
And though I can not see your face
I know you beckon me
You call my name
You call out my name
I get no closer if I run
are you teasing me, having some fun
The laws of Physics don’t apply
to emotions in each wave goodbye
Time’s stands so still, time is standing still
Eternity’s in a heart beat, infinity’s in your smile
Chaos rules the ether but we’re safe here in exile
I do not know the questions to the answers that you pose
But somewhere in the matrix is the one who surely knows
The one who surely knows - us caught in this space and time
(I wonder how to find you in this space and time)
Space and time, your heart and mine
Eternity’s in a heart beat, infinity’s in your smile
Chaos rules the ether but we’re safe here in exile
I do not know the questions to the answers that you pose
But somewhere in the matrix is the one who surely knows
The one who surely knows - us caught in this space and time
(I wonder how to find you in this space and time)
Space and time, your heart and mine
Space and time, your heart and mine
I wonder how to find you in this space and time

12. Strangers
Strangers
“Strangers” is dedicated to Philip & Sally Lowe for their work in Chad.
We read the sky and know the wind, leave no tracks behind
Build our shacks and hunt the deer, wise men tell where to find
Wonder at the changing rains & hide from thunder nights
Rise up as the sun’s reborn and head towards the light
Welcome strangers to our homes on-these ancient savannah plains
We’ve heard the rumors from your kind of forty days of rain
We can not read the signs you bring, so tell us again instead
‘bout the man who fed the crowd with fish & a loaf of bread
Re-tell the deeds of long lost ones round spirit fires at night
And as the sparks dance up in the air, they’ll-reach ever greater heights
Then as embers cool and fade away a chill invades our bones
& hunger sounds in the darkness draw near, out here we are never alone
Welcome strangers to our homes on-these ancient savannah plains
We’ve heard the rumors from your kind of forty days of rain
We can not read the signs you bring, so tell us again instead
‘bout the man who fed the crowd with fish & a loaf of bread
A stranger sits amidst new friends who give all they have to give
And sees all the treasures that lie within every heart is richer than his
Richer than his
Welcome strangers to our homes on-these ancient savannah plains
We’ve heard the rumors from your kind of forty days of rain
We can not read the signs you bring, so tell us again instead
‘bout the man who fed the crowd with fish & a loaf of bread
‘bout the man who fed the crowd
with fish and a loaf of bread

13. What's Up?
What's Up?
What's up here in the sunshine, I'm thinking of you
What's up here in the rain
I don't know where we're going, we’re just like
Children lost on a train
I don't know where we’re going, I'll tell you but
We'll get there all the same
The clocks spring forward and the evenings get light
BBQ's cooking in mosquito nights
The ice cream vans and the screaming kids
Sunlight silhouettes on your closed eyelids
Reclining on a sun-bed or an old deck chair
Kissing lovers dancing unaware
The bars and clubs a distant saxophone
The parties dancing and those late nights home, with you
What's up here at the seaside, waves are breathing
What's up here on the strand
I don't know how much Zoltan to use, cos
I'm just trying to get tanned, oh
I don't know how to reach you, so I’ll just keep
Tracing your name in the sand
The clocks spring forward and the evenings get light
BBQ's cooking in mosquito nights
The ice cream vans and the screaming kids
Sunlight silhouettes on your closed eyelids
Reclining on a sun-bed or an old deck chair
Kissing lovers dancing unaware
The bars and clubs a distant saxophone
The parties dancing and those late nights home, with you
